Motorcycle riders start out their motorcycling careers through a variety of paths. For example, many retirees take up motorcycling after they retire from a long career, and realize they want something they can enjoy and be passionate about in their golden years. Others realize they've been missing a passion and thrill in life that they discover one day by riding a motorcycle. Or maybe some people come across the sport in the midst of a mid-life crisis, only to have their lives changed forever for the better.

Then these days, there's the fact that more women than ever before are taking up motorcycling, and not only keeping up with the men, but even surpassing them in terms of skill and safety.

But however your entry into the exciting world of motorcycling, one fact remains clear. There is an overabundance of well-meaning but sometimes contradictory advice on how to best get started and how to learn the proper way to ride. Even the most naive rookie will quickly realize that there are many pitfalls when it comes to safety and finances when it comes to dealing with motorcycles.

You need to learn to cut through all the misinformed or simply unsafe information given by acquaintances or found on random websites, and focus on the fundamentals of safety and technique. First of all, do yourself and the world a favor, and get licensed.

Secondly, be safe by learning the proper skills from a licensed professional, and by wearing the appropriate safety gear at all times, especially a helmet (if there is only only thing you take away from this article, it is that you should always wear a helmet whenever you ride a motorcycle). There is a certain level of danger inherent in riding motorcycles that is simply not present when driving a car. You need to learn to accept these risks and learn to mitigate them with the proper skills and training, mindset, and protective apparel. To skimp on any of these areas will likely spell disaster. Employing them all will likely lead to a smooth, safe, comfortable and enjoyable ride, and a life-long hobby and fulfilling motorcycle career.

Third, even after you learn to ride, make it your life's commitment to constantly further your skills and learn how to be a better rider. No one masters everything there is to learn about riding motorcycles, and most riders have a long way to go before they can come even close to claiming mastery of the fine art of motorcycling. Be humble and willing to learn from others, especially those more experienced than you. Bike gatherings are perfect for exchanging knowledge, skills, and techniques (not to mention entertaining stories) with fellow riders. You'll probably make lifelong friends as well with enthusiastic and committed motorcyclists.

Once you try out motorcycling, there's an extremely high probability you'll get hooked, just like millions of other motorcycle riders have, and never look back. I just hope you'll be smart enough, assertive enough, and committed enough to make sure your motorcycling career is a prudent and safe experience that brings you long years of passionate enjoyment. When starting a law firm, you are going to have A LOT of things to consider - malpractice insurance, office location, phones, computers, location, employees, business cards, paper, the list goes on and on. The list of things can sound endless and be deflating. But, you can do all this. Of course, you already knew you could do it - that is why you are starting a law practice.

In my experience as a young lawyer starting a practice, I realized all of these things can be done - but not without clients to pay for it. To get clients you MUST market your new firm. I'll say it again: in starting my own law practice, the most important thing that I had to remember was that I had to market the firm all the time. Getting clients from day one is that absolute most important thing to do when starting a firm. Do it and do it well, or your new firm will not survive.

In an effort to get you jump started on thinking about marketing when starting a practice, I have come up with a Law Firm Marketing Top Ten List that I used when starting my own firm. I have also created a sub-list below for ideas on how you accomplish these marketing lists. In the end, read the list, but when starting your own law firm, BE CREATIVE!

If you are a recent graduate of a nursing program you may be somewhat overwhelmed by all of the possibilities ahead. It is important for you to understand exactly where your career can go, and where you need to start to get there. Looking into new graduate RN jobs will help you to understand where you can get your feet wet and where you can get started on your exciting and future career.

There are a couple of different entry level positions that a registered nurse can take once they have graduated from their program and passed their NCLEX-RN exam. Some choose to take on a nursing assistant job, hoping to gain more information by assisting one of the nurses in the hospital. This is generally an entry level job for those who have only completed 2 years of a nursing program, however, and is somewhat below the entry level jobs available to RNs.

Most new registered nurses are going to take full time positions as a nurse in a hospital setting or physician's office. These nurses will have different duties based on their skill level and their experience. This means that new graduates are probably going to take the more basic nursing jobs that feature more basic requirements. These nurses will be expected to take vital signs and record patient information. Beyond that, the job depends on the place of employment.

Some hospitals and offices will rely on new graduate RNs to administer medication to patients. Others will ask them to speak with patients about their medication, and about the issues they face. They will work with the patients and help them to understand their dietary and exercise requirements or restrictions due to their injury, illness, or medication they will be taking. Other hospitals and offices are going to rely on their nurses for more clerical work. New nurses are often put in a job that mixes clerical work with nursing duties. The offices and hospitals do rely on these nurses in emergencies or during packed hours, however, giving these nurses the hands-on action they have been looking for.

New Graduate RN jobs are available, and will pay well. Nurses will make, on average, ,000 per year. Entry level nurses may see starting salaries around the ,000 or ,000 mark, but will see raises and increased wages at a fairly rapid rate.

Despite the poor job market, the nursing field is booming. New graduates can expect to find a wealth of jobs as they enter the job market. The nursing industry is expected to grow by over 20 percent over the next ten years. This number is roughly estimated at 500,000 jobs, opening up a job market for any interested parties. Most nurses will work in physician's offices or take on jobs in home health care services. Those who are interested in working in hospitals should know that the number of job opening for hospitals is expected to slow. With that being said, new graduate RN jobs will grow in all fields, giving recent grads an opportunity to jump into their career.

The Master Cleanse has been around for over 50 years and it's worked successfully for many worldwide. It seems as if there are a million things to consider when developing a new business venture. But does your family have the right to be considered in the process? Of course they do, but rarely do they receive equal consideration to finances, business potential, or our own personal desire to achieve success.

If your family (spouse, children, parents) aren't on board with you one hundred percent, at some point you, your business, and/or your family will bear the consequences. New businesses require a tremendous amount of time and nurturing to develop and become successful; time that is taken from elsewhere, often from the family. Unless you're starting a "family" business where all members are participants, someone will inevitably feel left out, or neglected. Our family members don't always share the same dream as we do. Their priorities may be something far from business success.

To make sure our families don't suffer due to our own ambitions, before you pursue your dream business, sit down with them and discuss the following:

o Will the business venture take away from quality time spent with family members? If so, how much is acceptable to all involved?

o Will the new business be initially funded or supported using family monies? If so, will this put a financial strain on the family?

o Do all family members agree this is a potentially successful business idea?

o Do all family members realize that most new businesses do not succeed?

o If the business is not showing signs of becoming successful, what operational time period will the family tolerate before the business is considered a failure and should be sold or closed down?

o If the new business fails, what is the alternative plan for income? Some of the questions listed above may not have obvious answers until the business has started up and operated for some period of time. Since circumstances may vary regularly with new business, plan to review this list with the family about every six months to see what situations may have changed.

Your family needs to be in total support of your new business idea, or somewhere and at some point, somebody will suffer. Consider whether your "big idea" is worth the possibility of distancing yourself from your loved ones, or even the finality of a possible divorce. Business owners with complete family support stand a much greater chance of success. Talk to your family and trust in their opinion.

China's Basic Standard for Enterprise Internal Control (C-SOX) is coming into effect soon, and while some of the implementation guidelines have not been specified, the core of the regulation is in place.

The main purpose of C-SOX is to increase the effectiveness of internal controls in listed Chinese companies, thus reducing risks for companies and their stakeholders. Companies must evaluate their internal controls, publish an evaluation report on an annual basis and audit the effectiveness of their internal controls. These are new concepts to many organizations in China, and as a result there is some resistance and confusion to deal with. Below is a list of ten questions to address before starting your C-SOX implementation process.

1) Do we have an organization map? This document is the backbone of your C-SOX implementation because it shows the roles and responsibilities for the departments and employees. It will be used to assign areas of responsibility and internal control approval levels. If your organization does not have a recent map, work with your human resources department to put one together.

2) Who "owns" C-SOX? The answer should be the CEO and Board of Directors. If top management doesn't own the C-SOX process, it means that the company is not putting in the right amount of resources needed to make the implementation work. Companies that delegate C-SOX implementation to a specific department risk failure due to lack of support.

3) What is our current risk management framework? An existing risk management framework is a great starting point for C-SOX. It could be based on COSO, ERM or ISO 31000 - the point of departure is less important that the discipline that comes with a risk management process. If you do not have an existing risk management framework, you should hire an outside consultant or expert to help you.

4) How will IT help us? IT will play a key role in your C-SOX process, so it helps to get the IT team involved early. Part of the implementation will be buying new software (in fact, the Basic Standard for Enterprise Internal Control mandates the use of IT systems with in-built controls) and the IT department can help to draft a strategy and execute it.

5) What is our training plan? Your compliance initiative will not succeed if you don't train your staff. The training plan should include at least the following elements: why internal control is important, key internal controls, company policies and procedures, and who to go to with questions. Use e-learning to get the training out quickly and with maximum consistency.

6) Where is the expertise? If you don't have experts on internal control and risk management within your company, you should hire externally to jump start your project. There are many specialist consultants who can help you develop and execute your strategy and who will train your staff (this will reduce your costs in the long term).

7) What constitutes success? Make sure the CEO and top management have a shared vision of what C-SOX success looks like. This is a long process and there will be many steps along the way. Your implementation plan should detail key milestones and metrics for your business.

8) How do we evaluate staff performance? Several elements of C-SOX are related to human resources. Managers have to perform self-evaluations against internal control metrics, meaning that department managers will have to disclose information about their goals and objectives, and rate themselves on their performance. Furthermore, the Basic Standard for Enterprise Internal Control requires that compensation of executives be linked to internal control. These are new concepts for many companies, and setting up a performance management process is the best way to implement these requirements.

9) What's in it for me? Unless managers understand the benefits of C-SOX compliance, they are not likely to want to invest time and money in the process. Make sure you have an education campaign so staff understand where they fit in the process and the benefits to them.

10) What's next? C-SOX compliance is an on-going process, not a one-time event. There are always next steps and future plans and strategies that need to be implemented. You need a team that is able to implement existing requirements and plan ahead for what comes next.

The Basic Standard for Enterprise Internal Control is a wide-ranging rule which will impact every area of a company's business. You need to take care to address these fundamental questions before starting your implementation process.

They realize that cancer rates are growing higher and their waistlines are expanding wider. More people are finding out that fast food, alcohol and massive nutrition and diet fads have serious and often fatal consequences. Enter the promise of detoxification.

While many still see detoxification as something new age and "hippie", a lot more people have discovered how detoxification has worked wonders in their lives, from curing diseases to improving their moods.

A popular way to detox your body is to indulge in a water fast. For most people, a water fast as one of the most difficult things they have embarked on in their lives, yet also the most rewarding. To prepare for a mental fast, you must predict the kind of activities you will be entering in the next few days. Some may fast for as long as three days just to get the feel of how it is. Some people may find a water fast difficult and all they want to do is sleep all day. Other people may find that they are more energetic and vibrant on the water fast. Generally, water fasting is something not to be taken lightly - many people can attest to how profound the experience can be. Living on water makes one realize how we can function with very little and survive with only the essentials.

Before the fast, it is also a good idea to prepare your body by drinking juices (only the fresh kind) and soft, raw food. Breaking in your body gently helps you whether the aggressive surfacing of chemicals that water detoxification can bring. If you don't foresee a first see a lot of pressure and stress in the days after that, it is recommended that you continue your water fast until the end of the week.
